Peppermint Smoothie - There is nothing quite like the refreshing flavor of chocolate with a twist of peppermint.
Peppermint Chocolate Smoothie
1/4 cup macadamia nuts, raw
1 cup water or peppermint tea, chilled*
8 dates, pitted**
1/4 tsp stevia powder
1 tsp astragalus powder (Immune Boosting)
1 tablespoon cocoa or cacao
1-2 drops peppermint essential oil or extract
12 ice cubes
Blend the nuts, liquid, dates, stevia, astragalus, and cocoa until smooth. Then add the rest of the ingredients and blend again. Makes 2 - 1 cup servings

*To make peppermint tea... add a peppermint tea bag or a 1 tablespoon of loose peppermint leaf tea to 1 cup of boiling water. Let sit for 3-5 minutes and strain out the leaves if necessary. Chill.
**If your dates are hard, make sure to soak them in the liquid for about an hour so that they will blend properly.
