Weight Loss with Smoothies
I had gained 50 lbs over the past year with stress of closing my business and divorce. I couldn't believe it when the scale hit 201 by the beginning of August.
My sister who is a smoothie junkie got me to replace my coffee with cream and sugar with a fruit soymilk smoothie in the mornings. I did that for a couple weeks. Then I started making up different smoothies with spinach and greens in them for lunch. I started losing a few pounds in August.
I started adding bee pollen, flaxseed and a product called muscle milk to smoothies. (I don't like it too much but it's a protein thing, and I was told it's good for me.) I have started experimenting with many different fruits and veggies in my smoothies and believe it or not peanut butter.
My favorite smoothie recipe is:
A whole banana, a cup of nonfat yogurt, a spoonful of peanut butter... like 2 tablespoons I think, some bee pollen or wheat germ, 1/3 or 1/4 cup of orange juice, and ice. Its very tasty! Plus, I get some protein.
I also would like to add that my old blender died. I guess the impact of so much blending was too much for it. So, my sister lent me hers until I get a new one but I am 188lbs today. That's worth a blender to me! That's 13 pounds I have shed so far!!!
Since I dropped the coffee breakfasts and not so healthy lunches, I feel so much better and my skin is a lot clearer. I recommend the switch over to anyone who is trying to lose weight without really even trying.
