I made a smoothie recipe for a urinary infection. I've been I recently found out that not only had I passed a kidney stone but it also gave me a urinary tract infection. The recipe below is what I'm using to help recover. It was all I had in my fridge/freezer until I can go grocery shopping again next month.
I am open to any and all suggestions. My husband and I are 22 and soon to be graduating from college. I love your website and have a similar family history minus the lung cancer. I was diagnosed with MS (multiple sclerosis) at the age of 11. My parents have tried to eat healthy but never really kept with it.
Now that I have a family of my own with a son to be two years old I cannot let myself be like what my family was. We are for the most part a relatively healthy family, but I see room for improvements. I know it is hard since we are both full time college students. We don't have a whole lot of money but we try our best. Thank you for your time!
My son also loves this.
Smoothie Recipe for a Urinary Infection
1 cup Frozen Blueberries
1 cup Naked "Blue Machine" (if you don't have the ingredients in this drink already)this is what I have at the moment
1 cup No Sugar Added Cranberry Juice
4 oz Stonyfield Organic Yo baby yogurt
Add all together and blend until smooth makes 1-2 servings.
This was an off the top of my head smoothie recipe for a urinary infection. So please make any and all suggestions. I know Blueberries and Cranberries are some of the best fruits to intake during a sickness involving your urinary tract.

Julie,
Congrats on your pursuit for healthier living for you and your family! Taking healthy steps every day really adds up.
I have a four year old and a 1 year old... both boys. I know that starting with healthier options for them and teaching them why we eat healthy foods will greatly impact their lives.
Regarding your smoothie recipe for urinary infection... I think that you really got some terrific ingredients. Cranberries have been well-known for a long time to assist with healing urinary infections.
Also, blueberries are one of the fruits lowest in sugar. It is important to stay away from high sugared foods during an urinary tract infection.
The only ingredients that I am concerned about are the "Naked" drink and yogurt. Make sure that those don't contain a high concentration of sugar. Even juice concentrates can be a problem.
If you need it sweetened, I would recommend using stevia. Stevia contains no sugar and is extremely sweet.
One thing that works for me when I get an urinary tract infection is apple cider vinegar. I pour about a tablespoon in a cup of water and drink several cups of this mixture throughout the day. I do this for a couple of days. I guess that you could add apple cider vinegar in your smoothie as well, but I don't think that it would be near as effective. Plus... vinegar doesn't have the flavor for a tasty smoothie. :)
I hope this helps! I wish you and your family the best of health!
Happy Blending!
