Since we live in mexico where we have access to wonderful tropical fruits our best smoothies (every day different) almost always have fruit in season-or the lowest cost for maximum flavor-from the local market.
Our favorites usually have mango (beginning of season two weeks ago), a nice chunk of what they call honey pineapple (sweet), red papaya, guava in season, local apples in season, bananas (always)mandarin juice & the small limes.
Since we have two organic farms nearby we have year-round access to kale, spinach & swiss chard (all fresh cut daily) & other goodies.. Seems as if you can try just about any combo of the above and find yourself in smoothie heaven..
Enjoy your articles DaNae -and appreciate your willingness to share the goodies that your blender produces.
Just in case you are interested in alternative goings on such as sustainable living we are just getting into a ecovillage project which you can have a look at -and please comment on- it's at http://lasenda-ecovillage.Blogspot.Com/
